Personal Bio:

Lisa is the Principal Exercise Physiologist and Director of Optimum Exercise Physiology, which she founded in 2015 with a vision to enhance the health and wellbeing of the Clare Valley community.

She graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise and Sports Science, before completing a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology through Charles Sturt University. Lisa has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management and works as both an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Credentialled Diabetes Educator. She is also a Nationally Recognised Nutritionist and Certified Wellness Coach.

Lisa is deeply passionate about the concept of “Exercise as Medicine” and helping people live life to the fullest by improving their physical and mental health through education, movement and sustainable lifestyle change. She has a strong interest in the prevention and management of metabolic conditions, diabetes, heart disease, bone health and other chronic conditions, and works with people living with, or at risk of developing, diabetes.

As an Exercise Physiologist, Credentialled Diabetes Educator and Nutritionist, Lisa works with a wide range of clients, from amateur endurance athletes through to older adults and people managing complex health conditions. She enjoys combining exercise, diabetes education, nutrition, lifestyle and behaviour change strategies to support clients in improving their health, function, confidence and overall quality of life.

Lisa has a special interest in bone health and has completed specialised training to become an Onero accredited practitioner, allowing her to deliver evidence-based exercise programs for people with osteopenia, osteoporosis or an increased risk of osteoporotic fracture.

Outside the clinic, Lisa is an active member of local sporting groups, enjoys running along local trails, and loves spending time with her family enjoying water sports along the River Murray.
