The award winning evidence based exercise program for osteoporosis

Effective Exercise for Osteoporosis

A growing body of scientific evidence has demonstrated that ONERO®, supervised, bone-targeted, high intensity resistance and impact training, reduces osteoporotic fracture risk in post menopausal women and older men with low to very low bone mass [1-8].

The evidence-based ONERO® program improves bone, muscle, and physical function and is safe for people with low bone mass when supervised [1-8].

Includes Fall Prevention

The risk of osteoporotic fracture is greatly increased in people at risk of falling. ONERO® training not only improves leg muscle strength but also includes exercises to improve balance and mobility, thereby reducing osteoporotic fracture risk both by improving bone and reducing falls.

Fully Supervised

A hallmark of the ONERO® program is the requirement for close supervision by trained professionals.

Only coaches with the appropriate clinical and exercise expertise are permitted to deliver ONERO® to clients living with osteoporosis.

Not all exercise is created equal

But not all exercise is effective. Research has demonstrated that only certain types of exercise improve bone health. Onero™ is an osteoporosis treatment based on exercise designed specifically to prevent osteoporotic fracture by stimulating bone development and preventing falls in at-risk individuals.

“Just by chance I came by an article on The Bone Clinic and the wonderful news that women are increasing their bone density. I came in for an appointment and have been coming for 12 months. I’ve regained muscle, strength and balance. It has given me a new lease of life. My bone density improved by 5% in the spine and 8% in my hip!”

Onero™ and Us

To be safe and effective the program must be supervised by an accredited exercise physiologist who is trained and licensed to deliver the program. Our Clinic is Licensed to deliver Onero™ to our clients with or at risk of osteoporosis. Onero™ is appropriate for adults of any age wishing to reduce their risk of osteoporotic fracture.

One of the great features of Onero™ is that you don’t need to exercise five days of the week. Research has found that just twice a week is enough to stimulate bone, improve muscle and help prevent falls. In fact, the original research that underpins Onero™ included only 1 hour of exercise a week.

The Research

The ONERO program is based on Australian clinical research, including the LIFTMOR trial conducted in Brisbane. The findings showed meaningful improvements in bone health, including increases in lumbar spine and hip bone density in the exercise group, demonstrating the power of supervised, high-intensity training when applied correctly.
